The next major update to Microsoft Flight Simulator has arrived, making several major changes in the UK and Ireland. World Update 3 adds new airports, over 70 custom landmarks and features enhanced 3D photogrammetry for some cities in England.
Microsoft flight simulator chief Jorg Neumann says that World Update 3: UK and Ireland includes high-resolution 3D photogrammetry for five cities in England, including Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, London and Oxford. There are also five new hand-crafted custom airports (Barra, Liverpool, Land’s End, Manchester-Barton and Out Skerries), visual improvements for over 85 airports and much of the UK has been updated with enhanced digital elevation.

Asobo Studio has been working hard, adding more than 70 personalized points of interest across the UK. The trailer above shows several iconic and highly detailed landmarks such as Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, Spinnaker Tower, Buckingham Palace and many more. The update also adds some activities, including an iconic flight in the North Isles and two Landing Challenges: one north in the Shetland archipelago and one in southeastern England.
