UFC Vegas 18 featured two MMA legends in the main fights, and both suffered devastating setbacks.
In the main attraction, the multi-title champion Alistair Overeem did not exceed the size and strength of Alexander Volkov, who hit him with punches before ending the fight with his left hand that forced the referee’s intervention at 2:06 am of the second round.
Former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar’s dream of winning the UFC bantamweight title may have ended with a knee thrown by Cory Sandhagen, who sent him hard to the canvas just 28 seconds after Saturday’s main co-event.
