The UFC returns to action for the first time in 2021 at Ilha da Luta with a fascinating 145 pound main event.
UFC Fight Island 7 takes place this Saturday at the brand-new Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, marked by a fight between former champion Max Holloway and rising contender Calvin Kattar.
The duo will make history in mixed martial arts as the main event of the first UFC card to air on ABC television.
Holloway lost his last two fights to Alexander Volkanovski, in which he lost the title at UFC 245 and lost in the split decision in UFC 251 rematch in July. “Blessed” returns to Fight Island to compete in his first untitled fight since he faced Anthony Pettis for the provisional featherweight title at UFC 206 in December 2016.
Kattar undoubtedly made more moves in the division last year, winning two big wins. “The Boston Finisher” eliminated Jeremy Stephens in the second round of UFC 249 and won by unanimous decision Dan Ige in the UFC main event in July at the ESPN 13 event in Abu Dhabi.
As the potential winner can leave Fight Island with a shot at the title in his hands, check out an exaggerated video of the 145-pound showdown above.
