UFC 257 medical suspensions: Conor McGregor possibly out for six months

Conor McGregor may have been the main attraction of the UFC’s first pay-per-view of the year, but it may be a while before we see “The Notorious” in action again.

In the UFC 257 lightweight main event on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, McGregor lost by technical knockout in the second round to Dustin Poirier. His fall was preceded by several kicks in the legs and this was reflected in the official list of medical suspensions on the website Mixedmartialarts.com.

McGregor requires a negative X-ray of his right tibia / fibula, or he will be suspended for 180 days. Poirier only received a seven-day suspension for mandatory rest.

Two other fighters may also face six-month suspensions, lightweight Matt Frevola (right hand) and middleweight Andrew Sanchez (nasal, tibia / left fibula). Both require negative radiographs on their injured areas to avoid maximum suspension.
