The time has finally come for one of the most anticipated rematches in recent memory. Almost seven years later, Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will team up again in the UFC 257 main event on Saturday night in the United States, while competing in the early hours of the morning in Abu Dhabi. McGregor successfully returned to the Octagon in January 2020, stopping Donald Cerrone after almost 18 months away.
Since the first meeting in 2014, a lot has changed. Poirier made the jump to 155 pounds immediately after the competition and started a torrid race through the division, racking up an impressive 10-2 record with wins over names like Eddie Alvarez, Justin Gaethje, Anthony Pettis and Max Holloway. McGregor, meanwhile, was looking for featherweight and lightweight titles before a single boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017, which he lost by technical knockout.

Chandler has won the Bellator belt on three different occasions and is widely considered one of the best success stories in promotional history. Now, he begins his attempt to win gold in the UFC when he faces the powerful New Zealand kickboxer, who just lost in the decision to Poirier last June in one fight of the year.
