An Uber ad featuring left-wing activist John Sullivan, who was arrested on federal charges on Thursday in connection with last week’s Capitol riot, was hidden on the company’s vehicle sharing YouTube channel.
Sullivan was a competitive speedskater who aspired to compete at the 2018 Olympic Games. He appeared in a 2016 ad for Uber, which highlighted how he worked as a driver to make money on his strenuous full-time training schedule.

Uber did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.
But there is still, on Friday afternoon, an article extolling how to drive for the company fits perfectly into your schedule on the Uber blog.
“Before becoming an Uber partner, Sullivan worked on nozzles to survive: ‘I was a waiter, waiter, dishwasher and worked in a call center’,” says the post.

“So when Sullivan heard about Uber, it seemed like a perfect fit. As soon as he turned 21, he signed up to drive. After just two months, Sullivan managed to leave the call center.”
Sullivan, a leftist activist, initially told Fox News that he had entered the Capitol to record videos and “document” what he saw.
He is now facing federal charges of allegedly intentionally entering or staying in any restricted building or land without legal authority, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol land and interfering with the enforcement of the law involved in the legal performance of his official duties incident to and during the civil disorder commission.
In the video he delivered to the FBI and shared on his social media accounts, he can be heard inciting protesters and participating in the riot, according to a criminal complaint.
Inside the building, he told protesters that “We need to burn this” and “it’s our home ————“, according to a statement signed by FBI Special Agent Matthew Foulger.

He was due to appear in court on Friday afternoon.
Sullivan was not the only athlete with Olympic ties located within the Capitol.
Gold medal swimmer Klete Keller was arrested in connection with the riots after allegedly appearing in a video wearing her US Team jacket at the Capitol Roundabout.
