Tyler Lepley denies being gay, confirms Tyler Perry’s sexuality: TheGrio

Rising actor Tyler Lepley, who likes to keep his “private life private”, is clearing the air of certain rumors on the subject. As a guest on Angela Yee’s words, Lepley denied being gay and at the same time confirmed Perry’s sexuality.

In a recent episode of Lip Service, a “sex and relationships” podcast directed by Angela Yee, Lepley clarified rumors that started circulating about him when he started in the business.

When asked about rumors that spread about him “being gay”, Lepley quickly ended any confusion about it with Yee and his podcast co-hosts, Gigi Maguire and Lore’l.

“I remember when I started, I was watching it here and there,” he said. “For some reason, people were associating this with my first program.”

He is, of course, referring to his role as Benny Young in Those who have and those who don’t, Tyler Perrypopular OWN drama series, currently in its eighth season. Lepley has kept the success program on fire since 2013.

His connection to the actor-writer-producer-director and the successful owner of the studio may have started the conversation, he says.

“I appeared on a Tyler Perry show and, for some reason, he gets rap like this,” explained Lepley, “and I know Tyler [Perry] personally, and he is not gay. I was seen next to him and suddenly, ‘he’s passing it to me’, and people felt that I was gay or something. “

Lepley is also a series regular on the new Starz show, P-Valley, which he mentions during the podcast as a potential source of these ever-present gay rumors.

“I had done something while on the set of ‘P-Valley’. Maybe I was with Clifford or I think I was taking a picture with Alphonse, who plays Little Murda, and people started with the gay thing again, ”he said. “I think if you have a space that people can’t find, they can create a judgment.”

Lepley can be seen at Those who have and those who don’t every Tuesday to OWN and in the first season of P-Valley, currently broadcasting on Starz.com.
