Two teenagers accused of fatally stabbing a Texas mother of three who worked for Uber Eats

Two 14-year-old boys were arrested on Wednesday after police said they stabbed an Uber Eats driver last week in a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas.

Ryan Munsie, a mother of three, 31, was trying to deliver food to an apartment in Haltom on Saturday when she was stabbed in the neck, according to Haltom city police. A resident of the building called 911 to report a “person lying on the catwalk” with “obvious signs of trauma”.

Munsie was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Wednesday, Haltom City’s SWAT team members took the teenagers into custody without incident in Fort Worth.

“Haltom city detectives and officers have worked non-stop since Saturday to develop clues and identify suspects in this case,” police said in a statement. “Detectives were able to discover evidence that linked the two young men to crime.”

The teenagers are being held at the Tarrant County Youth Justice Center and face charges of capital murder. They are not being identified because they are young.

Police said the motive for the attack appears to be theft.

Munsie left her husband and three children, aged 5, 10 and 11, according to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.

Haltom City Police Sergeant. Eric Peters said that she did not reach the door of the person whose food she was delivering, and that person was questioned and acquitted.

He said the case was particularly disturbing.

“Not only the fact that she gave birth in our city, but also the fact that she now had three children who have no mother,” said Peters. “But also, the fact that she is just trying to make money in this difficult time, in this pandemic, then it is a sad business.”

An Uber statement said, “We are deeply saddened by this horrible crime and our hearts are with Ryan’s family and loved ones. We will cooperate with law enforcement to help in any way we can. “
