Two teenage girls were charged with murder following a car theft and accident in Washington, DC, which left an Uber Eats delivery driver dead, officials said.

The 13 and 15-year-olds, who were not identified as being minors, reportedly used a stun gun against the driver in an attempt to kidnap him on Tuesday, which prompted him to crash the car, according to the Metropolitan. Police department.

“He was a working immigrant who came to the USA in 2014 to build a better life for him and his family. The loss to your family is immeasurable, ”the family said in a statement.

Uber offered its condolences to Anwar’s family in a statement.

“We are devastated by this tragic news and our hearts are with Mohammad’s family during this difficult time,” Uber said in a statement to the Washington Post.

Anwar leaves a wife and two adult children in the United States and an adult son and four grandchildren in Pakistan, according to his family.
