MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Florida. – Three people were rushed to hospitals on Wednesday afternoon – including an 8-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl – after an accident that remains under investigation.
The two girls were flown to Jackson Memorial Hospital and an adult woman was flown to Aventura Hospital & Medical Center. All are in stable condition, Miami-Dade police said.
Police say a man and a woman were arrested at the scene. The authorities are no longer calling this an instant investigation.
The scene was on NE 10th Avenue and NE 145th Street, and witnesses say the victims were in a blue car that can be seen with significant damage. Since then, it has been towed.
A black BMW was also involved.
Two witnesses said they saw a Miami-Dade County police vehicle with emergency lights on following that black car heading west on NE 145th Street before hitting the blue, shortly after 2:30 pm
Miami-Dade police confirmed that they were trying to stop traffic on the black BMW, but it is not clear why they were trying to stop the driver.
