Twitter users plan the funeral of the platform after the paid subscription feature is released

The world has been asking the microblogging and social networking service for years for an edit button, but there is still no way to go back and fix the errors after the blue “Tweet” button is pressed. What they gave us, however, was a paid subscription service.

The leaders at headquarters obviously picked up on “why is Twitter free?” tweets very literally because on Thursday they officially announced “Super Follows”. The payment feature will give users the ability to charge their followers and give them access to additional content, according to Jacob Kastrenakes of The Verge.

Additional content can include bonus tweets, access to a community group based on what followers are interested in, or even a newsletter subscription, as reported by Kastrenakes. Similar to OnlyFans, it allows interested people to pay creators directly for the content they are releasing.

“We also think that a publicly funded model, where subscribers can directly finance the content they value most, is a durable incentive model that aligns the interest of creators and consumers,” said Dantley Davis, Twitter’s design director.

Although I believe that the people I follow have some pretty hot scenes every now and then – I absolutely won’t pay to read them. And clearly the rest of the Twitter community agrees with me.

The news caused the trend of “RIP Twitter” and “MySpace”, with millions of people sharing that they will return to Tom, as Jack Dorsey clearly lost control.

RIP Twitter, we had a good run.
