Twitter permanently banishes the CEO of My Pillow

Twitter permanently banned the account of My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell after he continually perpetuates the baseless claim that Donald Trump won the 2020 U.S. presidential election

Twitter decided to ban Lindell, who founded the bedding company My Pillow, due to “repeated violations” of its civic integrity policy, a spokesman said in a statement. The policy was implemented last September and aims to combat disinformation.

Major retailers, such as Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl’s, said they would stop selling My Pillow products, Lindell said earlier.

Lindell is also facing potential litigation from Dominion Voting Systems for claiming that his electronic ballot boxes played a role in the alleged electoral fraud. He also urged Trump to declare martial law in Minnesota to obtain his ballots and annul the election.

After the attack on the United States Capitol earlier this month, Twitter banned more than 70,000 accounts for sharing incorrect information. Trump, who had incited the crowd, also had his account permanently suspended.
