Twitter officials preferred Biden to Trump before the ‘priceless’ ban

President Biden was clearly the favorite of Twitter officials when it came to campaign donations during the 2020 election cycle.

Twitter employees and their immediate family donated $ 193,443 to Biden’s campaign, compared to $ 3,023 for Trump’s campaign, the records show.

His donations to Democrats versus Republicans were a 98% to 2% split. Twitter employees gave $ 783,990 to Democrats and $ 12,333 to Republicans.

In addition, Twitter gave Biden what Politico called a “priceless” gift when the social media platform banned Trump permanently in early January. Before the ban, Trump’s tweets often shaped the news cycle during his four years in office.

Meanwhile, major technology companies, including Amazon, Google and Microsoft were among donors to Biden’s inaugural committee, according to a list released by Biden’s Inaugural Committee of all contributors who donated more than $ 200. The list does not specifies how much each donor contributed.
