The TSA expects to fill positions for transportation security officers (TSOs) at about 430 airports in the United States by this summer, according to the statement.
“TSOs are a critical first-line defense to protect our country’s commercial air transport system,” said Melanie Harvey, executive assistant administrator for TSA Security Operations in the statement. “Each day, our officers screen hundreds of thousands of airline passengers, ensuring that they arrive at their destinations safely. We hope to screen more passengers regularly in the summer months and will need additional officers to support our critical mission.”
TSA said it was holding virtual job fairs and other recruitment events in cities across the country to fill part-time and full-time positions.
