The results of the poll, conducted from December 1 to 17, were sharply divided among the parties, with 48 percent of Republicans nominating Trump and 32 percent of Democrats choosing Obama as their first choice. Biden was also a popular choice for Democrats, getting 13% of their responses.
No public figure other than Trump received more than 2 percent of the Republicans’ vote. Trump and Obama tied for the independents vote, each gaining 11%, while Biden won 3%.
This year’s results mark the 10th time that Trump was among the 10 most admired men and the 15th time that Obama was on the list.
The 2020 survey results also featured several top 10 finalists, including Dr. Anthony Fauci in fourth place on the male list, and Congressman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in seventh place and Supreme Court judge Amy Coney Barrett in ninth place on the list female List.
Other prominent men in 2020 include Pope Francis, technology entrepreneur Elon Musk, Senator Bernie Sanders, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, NBA superstar LeBron James and the Dalai Lama.
When asked which woman they admire most this year, 10% of respondents named Michelle Obama, 6% named Harris and 4% named First Lady Melania Trump.
Also included in the list of most admired women are former talk show host Oprah Winfrey, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Queen Elizabeth II and climate activist Greta Thunberg.
