Trump tops list of most admired men of 2020: poll

President Trump tops the list of the most admired man in 2020, according to a Gallup poll released Tuesday.

The annual survey asked respondents which man and woman living anywhere in the world they most admired this year – and 18% said Trump and 10% named former first lady Michelle Obama, with elected vice president Kamala Harris coming in second with 6%.

Trump’s first place has taken former President Barack Obama from the top of the list – a place he has held for the past 12 years.

The president and his predecessor drew last year.

Completing the ten most admired men are: President-elect Joe Biden with 6%, Dr. Anthony Fauci with 3%, Pope Francis with 2%, with Tesla founder Elon Musk, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Microsoft Bill Gates, NBA a star LeBron James and the Dalai Lama ending with 1 percent each.

Both Fauci, who is on the president’s coronavirus task force, and James made the list for the first time.

First Lady Melania Trump came in third among the most admired women with 4 percent, followed by media mogul Oprah Winfrey with 3 percent, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Queen Elizabeth II with 2 percent.

US Supreme Court Judge Amy Coney Barrett and environmental activist Greta Thunberg took 1 percent.

Republicans chose Trump as the most admired by 48%, and no other public figure won more than 2% of Republican votes.

Among Democrats, Obama was chosen by 32% – against 41% last year.

Fauci was considered the most admired by 5% of Democrats, but only 1% of Republicans.
