Trump says ‘we will do something’, but ‘not yet’ in the first post-prez observation

Former President Donald Trump said Friday in his first public comment since leaving office that he will make a comeback somehow – but he did not say how.

“We will do something, but not yet,” Trump told Washington Examiner journalist Rob Crilly.

The former president, who stepped down on Wednesday, made the comment while dining at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

An assistant would have ended the interview after his only response.

Trump has been virtually silent in the early days of President Biden’s administration. His favorite communications platform, Twitter, banned him after the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill, during which Trump supporters interrupted Biden’s victory certification.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Said on Friday that she will transmit an impeachment article against Trump – for allegedly inciting the riot – to the Senate on Monday, starting her second impeachment trial.

Trump may seek a non-consecutive term as president in 2024, but if at least 17 Republican senators vote to condemn him, he could be banned from office again.

Trump considered forming a new political party called the Patriot Party.
