Trump said Meghan Markle ‘is not good’ after a bombshell interview with Oprah

Former President Donald Trump thought Meghan Markle “sucked” after his bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey last week, but felt that saying it publicly would cause the kind of reaction suffered by British TV presenter Piers Morgan after he openly criticized the Duchess of Sussex, according to a former adviser.

Jason Miller, who was a senior communications consultant to Trump, made the comments during an interview on Wednesday on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast.

“She sucks … I said that and now everyone is watching,” said Miller, recounting the former commander-in-chief’s comments.

Miller said Trump feared to say publicly that anything negative about Markle could make you “canceled” like Morgan, who made headlines on Tuesday after he broke into the set of “Good Morning Britain” after a tense discussion with the co- host Alex Beresford on the Winfrey interview.

Morgan later claimed that he was fired for his refusal to apologize for saying that Markle’s claims about suicidal thoughts and racism within the royal family were exaggerated – statements that generated more than 41,000 complaints to British regulator Ofcom, including Markle herself.

Trump reportedly said to Miller, “I’m on the Piers team.”

“Piers Morgan is the best, he is the best, and they tried to cancel him simply because he criticized Meghan Markle,” said Miller Trump.

This was not the first time that Trump fought with Markle. In 2016, Markle said she was voting for Hillary Clinton, “not because she is a woman, but because Trump made it easy to see that you really don’t want the kind of world he is painting.”

Responding to her comments in a 2019 interview with The Sun, Trump said he was “shocked” by Duchess Meghan’s previous comments.

“I didn’t know that. What can I say? I didn’t know she was nasty,” Trump told the channel.

And during the race for the 2020 presidential election, when asked about Biden’s endorsement by Markle and Prince Harry, Trump said, “I’m not a fan of her.”

“And she’s probably heard that already,” said Trump. “But I wish Harry the best of luck because he will need it.”
