Trump on rumors that Meghan Markle will run for president: ‘I hope that happens’

Former President Donald Trump told Fox News on Tuesday that if the rumors surrounding Meghan Markle’s potential 2024 presidential candidacy prove true, he would have an “even stronger feeling of running” in the next election.

Trump was asked to comment on the news that Markle could be eyeing a presidential candidacy in an exclusive interview with “Fox News Primetime” host Maria Bartiromo.

“Mr. President, what was your opinion of Meghan Markle saying now – meeting with Democratic operatives, may she want to run for president?” Bartiromo asked.

The Daily Mail quoted an unidentified UK politician over the weekend as saying that Markle was meeting with Democratic operatives to explore a possible presidential run in 2024.

“I hope it happens. If it did, I think I would have an even stronger feeling of running,” Trump told Bartiromo. The former president has not confirmed whether he plans to run again in 2024 at an earlier point in the interview.

However, he told Bartiromo that he is “not a fan” of Markle because of the way “she talks about – the royal family and the queen.

“It turns out that I think I know the Queen, as you know. I met the Queen and I think the Queen is an amazing person, and I’m not a fan of Meghan,” he said.

Trump’s senior communications consultant Jason Miller revealed in an interview on Wednesday on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast that Trump considered Markle “bad” after his bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey who dominated the headlines earlier this month .
