Trump kicks off YouTube for a week, new video removed

President Trump’s YouTube account was suspended for a week due to “concerns about the continued potential for violence,” the company said on Tuesday. The change came in response to “new content” uploaded to Trump’s channel on Tuesday. The content in question was in the last video uploaded to the channel, which was promptly removed. YouTube, which is owned by Google, said the Trump channel will be “temporarily prevented from uploading new content” for at least seven days, meaning that Trump could be prevented from posting videos to his millions of followers on Induction Day . The company was under increasing pressure to take action against Trump after Twitter, Facebook and others kicked him after the deadly January 6 Capitol riots he helped incite.
