Trump ‘happier’ now that he’s out of social media: ex-aide

Former President Trump has “been happier” since leaving the White House – partly because he is out of social media, said his former campaign advisor.

“The president said he feels happier now than he has been for a while,” said former Trump campaign strategist Jason Miller in an interview with the UK’s Sunday Times.

Trump was banned from Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms after the siege of the United States Capitol last month.

“He said that not being on social media and not being subject to the hateful echo chamber that social media often becomes, in fact, has been good,” Miller told the media.

“This is something that the first lady [Melania] backed up too. She said she loves it, that he is much happier and is having a lot more fun, ”said the former aide.

Trump also benefited from being no longer under the pressure of the highest office, Miller said.

Since Trump left the White House, it was “the first time in years that I have seen the president really relaxed,” Miller told the newspaper.

“Only 45 other people in the history of the United States have experienced what it is like to have the world on their shoulders. . . and being able to breathe out, knowing that not everything depends on you, for the first time in four years. “

Meanwhile, Trump shared “some tender moments” with his family as he left Washington, DC, for his Florida resort in Mar-a-Lago, Miller said.

“It was fun to have a front row seat for that. Emotions covered the whole range. Some people were very sad because that day had come, but there was a sense of pride that this was the first most successful term in the presidential history of the United States, ”said Miller.
