“We all knew the Biden government would be bad, but none of us even imagined how bad they would be and how far they would go,” Trump told a crowd of enthusiastic supporters at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida.
In a speech that lasted well over an hour, Trump won Biden’s incipient presidency by talking about topics ranging from immigration to the pandemic, from trade to transgender rights. He labeled the Biden administration as “anti-jobs, anti-family, anti-borders, anti-energy, anti-women and anti-science.”
The speech in particular reflected Trump’s first speech as a presidential candidate in 2015 in his strong emphasis on immigration and the border.
“They can be murderers. They can be rapists. They can be drug dealers. You take them and release them in our country, ”he said, referring to undocumented migrants.
Trump also targeted Biden’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, taking credit for the distribution of the vaccine in the United States
“I gave the new administration a modern medical miracle,” he said, referring to the vaccine.
“I pushed the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] as if they had never been pushed before, ”he continued. “They were never pushed as I pushed them. I didn’t like them at all, but as soon as we were done, I said, ‘Now I love you very much.’ “
Trump also addressed hot conservative issues, including moves to allow transsexual women to participate in women’s sports.
“What coach wants to recruit a young woman if her record could be easily broken by someone who was born a man?” he said. “I think it’s crazy. We must protect the integrity of women’s sport.”
Trump took the opportunity to continue to falsely say several times that he won the 2020 presidential election, while calling for more voting restrictions to be implemented. At one point, his comments on the 2020 election elicited shouts of “you won” in the crowd.
The speech comes amid an increasingly deep division in the Republican Party. The ex-president, who was lavished with praise and adoration during the four-day event in Orlando, intends to tighten his grip on a party that saw its internal divisions spread after the events of January 6, when a professional -Trump mob invaded Capitol in an effort to interrupt the Biden Electoral College’s victory certification.

Before his speech, Trump won the CPAC poll, with 55 percent of respondents saying they would vote for him in a hypothetical Republican Party primary in 2024.
The former president also ruled out creating a new party, saying there was no reason to split the Republican Party’s votes. “We will be united and strong like never before,” said Trump.
The Orlando event underscored how strong Trump’s influence remains in the Republican Party, as the party tries to regain a majority in the House and Senate in 2022.
“Trumpism means strong borders,” said Trump. “It means law enforcement. It means very strong protection for the Second Amendment. “
“It means supporting the forgotten men and women who have been harnessed for so many years,” he continued.
And Trump did not rule out running again in 2024. He repeatedly sparked the possibility during his speech, drawing applause from the crowd.
“First we are going to retake the House and then a Republican president will make a triumphant return to the White House. I wonder who it will be, ”he said at the end of his speech to a loud ovation.
