MOSCOW – Twelve people died and 11 others were injured in the collision of a trailer and a minibus in central Russia.
The Russian Interior Ministry said in a statement on Saturday that the collision occurred on Friday near Syzran, in the Samara region, about 730 kilometers (450 miles) southeast of Moscow.
Preliminary information indicated that the tractor-trailer skidded and swerved onto a track in the opposite direction.
The Russian Investigative Committee said it opened a criminal investigation. The condition of the truck driver was not reported.
