The WGA released nominations for the film for the 2021 WGA Awards on Tuesday, honoring outstanding achievements for original and adapted scripts and documentaries during 2020. The winners will be announced on March 21 in a virtual ceremony. Check out the full list below.
The Original Script category will see the scribes behind Judas and the Black Messiah, Palm Springs, young promising, Sound of Metal and The Chicago Trial 7 disputing the hardware.
The Adapted Roadmap race will be among Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Black Bottom by Ma Rainey, News of the World, One Night in Miami and The White Tiger.
On the documentary side, All In: The Fight for Democracy, The Dissident, Herb Alpert Is…, Red Penguins and Fully under control will fight for the WGA trophy.

The eligibility period is January 1, 2020 to February 28, 2021.
The WGA is the only guild that requires a film to be produced under its Basic Minimum Contract to be eligible, and this year tortured by Covid appears to have been more films than ever. Among the favorites of the awards season outside, in terms of script, are Nomadland, Minari, Mank, The Father, Pieces of Woman, Ammonite, Emma, David Copperfield’s personal story, Let Them All Talk and animated films, including Soul.
Also lacking in the containment of the original script are Herself, Supernova, The Climb, The Assistant, I Carry You With Me, Farewell Amor and Common love. Among the ineligible photos for the adapted script are Hope Gap, Penguin Bloom, Martin Eden, Radioactive and Blithe spirit.
