Treyarch dev responds to claims that it doesn’t fix Cold War bugs quickly enough

Players are buying their new Maxis package for Black Ops Cold War and realizing that the Maxis player model is invisible in their games in Zombies mode.

UPDATE: Treyarch reported that there is really no invisibility problem in MP with the Maxis package. MP players are seeing an issue where Maxis will appear as Adler in the game instead of Maxis. The problem with invisibility is only occurring in Zombies mode, where it affects both the player’s point of view and the enemy’s view.

Treyarch is working to fix this issue as soon as possible.

Treyarch acknowledged the problem in its Trello board, saying “the occasional invisibility bug occurs only in Zombies, not in MP. When this occurs, the Operator is shown as invisible to all players in Zombies, not just the player’s POV. In MP, the player will occasionally appear as Adler.“The studio confirms that”a fix is being rolled out soon. In the meantime, use Quick Equip on the Bundle Locker as a workaround to use Maxis as intended. “

The original story follows.

The second season of Black Ops Cold War got off to an interesting start with the launch of its main Maxis package, sold for 2,400 COD points in the store. While many players may have no trouble running the new operator in Multiplayer and Zombies, some players have reported major problems when running it on all platforms.

According to a post on Reddit by user Sticky-Lemons, it appears that operator Samantha Maxis may actually appear completely invisible to players in the game, or even use another skin as a default. You can see the bug in action in the video below, where Redditor recorded his experience generating on the new Firebase Z map, with no operator in sight.

After arriving at the map, the user was also unable to see the operator’s vision model or weapons and, according to other Reddit posts, was also unable to take damage from Zombies on the map, making his character completely invulnerable.

Another report by commentator JeffFronks reports that he also encounters this same problem in Zombies and when he spawns in multiplayer mode. The Maxis operator is replaced by an Adler skin, further adding to the confusion.

Fortunately, it looks like players won’t have to wait long for a fix, as Treyarch Community Manager Josh Torres confirmed that the team is aware of the flaw and is actively tracking the issue.

We don’t know exactly which players will be affected by this flaw, or if it is specifically based on the platform you are using. At the time of this writing, our team tried to use Maxis on PS5 and PC and found no problems loading zombie or multiplayer games.
