Trevor Lawrence reportedly faces a 5-6 month recovery after the next shoulder surgery

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence, widely considered the first general choice in the draft, played for scouts on Friday because he needs shoulder surgery he doesn’t play with.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Lawrence will undergo the procedure and that Lawrence is facing a 5 to 6 month recovery.

Rapoport adds that Lawrence “should look good on the training ground”, but this conflicts with the projected schedule. If it takes six full months, this is August 16th. And that means that Lawrence won’t be well before opening the training ground.

There is no reason to think that Lawrence will not be well before the start of his debut season, but there is still a chance (although incredibly small) that there will be an infection or complications or some other circumstance that limits Lawrence in some way. The Jaguars and / or any team that is thinking of negotiating until the number 1 general choice in the draft will certainly be paying close attention to the process in the coming weeks.
