On Friday morning, Clemson’s quarterback Trevor Lawrence – the expected No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft – held his professional day for scouts and appraisers. I had the opportunity to be there and watch him make 52 pitches and chat with him after practice.
The 1.80 meter and 91 kg junior QB chose to do the session before surgery on the left lip – the shoulder that did not throw. The procedure is not expected to impact his availability for the start of the training camp in July. Among the 16 NFL teams who attended on Friday were the Jacksonville Jaguars, who had the opportunity to select Lawrence first in April.
