The 49ers are maintaining left tackle Trent Williams.
Williams, who arrived at a Washington exchange last year and started 14 games, has re-signed with San Francisco.
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Williams posted a video on Instagram of himself celebrating the contract. ESPN’s Dianna Russini said it is a six-year contract that includes a $ 30.1 million signing bonus.
Williams, 32, was chosen in the first round of Washington in 2010 and spent his entire career there until he was unhappy with the franchise, which he accused of misdiagnosing a medical condition. Williams did not play in 2019 and insisted he would never play for Washington again, which precipitated negotiations for San Francisco. The 49ers obviously liked what they received from Williams last year, and now he is about to be the initial left striker for years to come.
