As of Monday, March 22, the Massachusetts Travel Order will be replaced by a Travel Notice:

Travel advice

  • As of Monday, March 22, all visitors entering Massachusetts, including returning residents, are advised to be quarantined for 10 days after arrival.
  • Travelers are exempt from this notice if they have a negative result on the COVID-19 test administered up to 72 hours before their arrival in Massachusetts. If not obtained before entering Massachusetts, a test can be obtained after arrival, provided that travelers are quarantined until a negative test result is received.
  • Anyone returning to Massachusetts after an absence of less than 24 hours is exempt from this notice.
  • Workers entering Massachusetts to perform critical infrastructure functions (as specified by the Federal Agency for Cybersecurity and Infrastructure) are exempt from this notice while on the move to, or while on the job.
  • Travelers who are fully vaccinated (ie who have received two doses of Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 OR who have received a single dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine, 14 days or more ago) and who have no symptoms are exempt from this warning.
