Transgender star Elliot Page allegedly filed for divorce from his wife Emma Portner, less than two months after the Umbrella Academy actor publicly revealed himself.
Elliot, 33, reportedly filed for legal documentation in a Manhattan court, according to TMZ, seeking to dissolve his three-year marriage to the 26-year-old professional dancer, who publicly supported his partner’s decision to come out as a transgender in December.
However, days after Emma expressed her ‘pride’ at Elliot’s statement, she temporarily deleted her Instagram account – although she has since been reactivated. She and Elliot removed all images of each other from their respective accounts.

DailyMail.com contacted a spokesman for comment.
Before deleting her account, Emma made a public appeal for ‘patience and privacy’ and made it clear that her own ‘gender identity, pronouns and sexuality’ are ‘private and are not subject to debate’.
Elliot last addressed the public in a statement shared on his Instagram account on December 20, when the actor thanked his fans for their support in deciding to come out.
‘From the bottom of my heart, thank you,’ wrote Elliot, as he shared an image of themselves posing with a black hood and metal-framed glasses.
‘Your love and support was the greatest gift. Stay safe. Be there for each other. ‘
Emma has shared several posts on her account since reactivating him at the beginning of the new year, however, she has not addressed her relationship with Elliot since December.
Neither Elliot nor Emma has been seen together publicly since 2020, however, Emma made clear her feelings about her partner’s decision to come out by sharing a statement of support on her own social media account, as soon as Elliot posted his news.

Excluded: at the time, it was not clear why Emma chose to stay away from social media, but it may be that she wanted to stay out of the spotlight when dealing with her relationship.
In the post, she wrote: ‘I am very proud of @elliotpage. Trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world.
‘I also ask for patience and privacy [and] that you join me in fervent support for trans life every day. Elliot’s existence is a gift in itself. Shine on sweet E. I love you so much. ‘
It is not clear why Emma chose to delete her Instagram account days after Elliot’s release, however, it was believed at the time that the decision could have been a result of the influx of hateful comments addressed to Juno’s actor following her statement .
In light of the news of the couple’s divorce, it may well be that Emma chose to stay out of the public eye when dealing with their relationship in private.
