February 2021 has passed, and with the much needed spring equinox on the horizon, March is about to break a particularly harsh winter. And as a new season approaches, streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, Disney +, HBO Max and Netflix have started showing the next wave of television and movies to be released in the coming days and weeks.
Here are all the biggest trailers, teasers and promotions launched in the first week of March 2021.
Charmed
Charmed Season 3 was a tumultuous comeback for the Charmed Ones, as the sisters try to acclimate to life in the mortal realm. A promo for the fifth episode of the season, boldly titled “Yew Do You”, shows Maggie why it is a challenge for her and her sisters to find their voices in the real world when they feel so empowered in the magical realm. Meanwhile, as the sisters orient themselves, former enemies may be resurrecting to challenge them.
Enchanted stars Sarah Jeffery, Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz, Rupert Evans, Jordan Donica and Poppy Drayton. New episodes of Charmed air on the CW on Sundays at 9 pm ET / PT.
The Flash
A couple of promos welcomed the return of The Flash for its seventh season, which shows Barry Allen determined to rescue his wife Iris from the villainous Mirror Master. After his speed is restored by creating an artificial Speed Force, Barry gains the ability to think as fast as he can move, a skill that helps him find a way to access the Mirrorverse where Iris has been held captive since the 6th season.
The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh. New episodes will air on Tuesdays at 8 pm ET / PT on The CW.
Godzilla vs. Kong
Godzilla vs. Kong is coming in late March, and a new set of promotions and television commercials offers the public another glimpse of the impending kaiju confrontation. The most tempting part of the new footage reveals how Kong is transported from his home on Skull Island to his fight for the title against the atomic lizard. The promos also expand some of the fights seen in previously released trailers, promising even more an unforgettable showdown.
Directed by Adam Wingard and written by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein, Godzilla vs. Kong stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry. The film hits theaters and HBO Max on March 31.
The legacy of Jupiter
Netflix took a first look at its television adaptation of the best-selling comic series The legacy of Jupiter. With a clip that compares the original comic art of co-creator Frank Quitely and colorist / literary Pete Doherty to the production of stills from the live-action series, Netflix’s first Millarworld project is about to bring life to your favorite postmodern meditation of fans about superheroes this can.
Netflix’s Jupiter’s Legacy stars Josh Duhamel as The Utopian, Ben Daniels as Brain-Wave, Leslie Bibb as Lady Liberty, Elena Kampouris as Chloe Sampson, Andrew Horton as Brandon Sampson, Mike Wade as The Flare, Anna Akana as Raikou and Matt Lanter like Skyfox. The series premieres on May 7 on Netflix.
Lupine
One of Netflix’s most popular new original series this year is live-action Lupine, starring Omar Sy as master thief Assane Diop. Inspired by the literary thief Arsène Lupine, Assane carries out bold assaults across France after finding himself at the mercy of the wrong people. The series returns for the second half of its first season this summer with Assane leaving to rescue his kidnapped son at all costs, as shown in an action-packed trailer.
Lupine stars Omar Sy, Vincent Londez, Lidivine Sagnier, Hervé Pierre, Soufiane Guerrab, Etan Simon, Shirine Boutella, Antoine Guoy and Clotilde Hesme. The first part of season 1 is now being streamed on Netflix, with the second part premiering this summer.
The proud family: taller and more proud
One of the most beloved animated series on the Disney Channel will be reborn on Disney + later this year with The proud family: taller and more proud. A promotion narrated by the series’ executive producers features the namesake family and the extended cast, which feature updated designs to appeal to modern sensibilities, while retaining the elements that have made them so captivating to the public since 2001.
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder stars Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, Jo Marie Payton as Suga Mama, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer and Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez, with Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby Proud. The series will premiere on Disney + in 2021.
South Park
After previously exploring the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), South Park returns for a new special that addresses the launch of the vaccine. A promotion for the special shows citizens claiming to be essential workers and offering bribes to gain quick access to the vaccine supply while boys continue to enforce strengthened security measures across the city.
South Park’s “South ParQ Vaccination Special” opens on Wednesday, March 10 at 8:00 pm ET / 7:00 pm CT at Comedy Central.
Superman and Lois
One of the biggest mysteries started at the premiere of the series Superman and Lois it was the identity of the masked antagonist fighting Superman, who answered by the surname Luthor and possessed an exosuit and Kryptonite that made him capable of fighting the Man of Steel directly. A promotion traces Captain Luthor’s origins and points to his efforts to turn General Sam Lane against his son-in-law as one of the central conflicts in the new Arrowverse series.
Superman & Lois star Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Dylan Walsh, Alex Garfin, Jordan Elsass, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Inde Navarrette and Wolé Parks. The new episodes will air on Tuesdays at 9 pm Eastern Time on The CW.
Voyagers
Outer space becomes blatantly psychedelic in the next film Voyagers. Boasting a cast of stars, the science fiction film makes a space crew discover that the blue substance they ingest daily is actually an experimental drug that increases sensory perception and intensifies their pleasure centers. However, as the crew likes the effects of the drug, one of them endangers the others when they experience a violent voyage.
Written and directed by Neil Burger, Voyagers stars Lily-Rose Depp, Tye Sheridan, Colin Farrell and Fionn Whitehead. The film opens on April 9.
Without remorse
One of Tom Clancy’s most popular characters is John Clark, the leader of the elite global peacekeeping force Rainbow Six. Clark’s early days are explored in the next original Amazon Prime Video film Without remorse, adapted from Clancy’s 1993 novel of the same name. An action-packed trailer shows Michael B. Jordan wreaking havoc like the Navy SEAL, which faces a Russian conspiracy on American soil while seeking revenge for the murder of his wife.
Directed by Stefano Sollima from a screenplay written by Taylor Sheridan and Will Staples, Unapologetic stars Michael B. Jordan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Jamie Bell, Lauren London, Brett Gelman and Guy Pearce. The film opens on April 30 on Amazon Prime Video.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League
After years of anticipation, fans will finally see the vision of filmmaker Zack Snyder for DC Extended Universe Justice League this month on HBO Max. A new promotion for the director’s version puts the focus on Batman as he realizes the value of reuniting with his fellow superheroes in time to be put back into action by a Superman in a black suit . A second promotion shows several different outfits for the Man of Steel when he returns.
