SNK has released a new trailer and screenshots for The King of Fighters XV featuring the playable character Benimaru Nikaido (voiced by Atsushi Maezuka).
Benimaru Nikaido and the previously revealed Meitenkun and Shun’ei form the first fully revealed team in the game, “Team Hero”. Here is the description of each fighter:
Team Hero
- Benimaru Nikaido – Born into a wealthy family and raised by his Japanese father and American mother, this shooting star takes the fight to a shocking level. His slender body improves his electrostatics and his sculpted legs (built from years of shooting boxing) allow him to hit kicks that strike like rays. During this tournament, Benimaru’s friend and rival, Kyo Kusanagi, forces him to a position where he must look after Shun’ei and Meitenkun.
- Shun’ei – Although young, Shun’ei is a master at manipulating illusions. Shortly after mysterious hands are formed around his body and he is disowned by his parents, Shun’ei falls under the wings of the legendary martial arts master Tung Fu Rue, who teaches him to master his newfound powers. After the defeat of a strange being known as Verse, Shun’ei continues his training in an effort to better control his powers. He enters the tournament with his friend Meitenkun to push his skills to the limit.
- Meitenkun – With the pillow in hand, this sleepy young fighter is a master of the hidden martial arts technique Hyakkyokuminminken, or Eight Extremity Sleep Fist. He considers his mentor Tung Fu Rue and his fellow disciple / best friend Shun’ei his family. Many think that Meitenkun is Tung’s secret weapon, since the extent of his explosive and technical power is a mystery to everyone.
The King of Fighters XV should be released in 2021 for unannounced platform (s). Read more about the game here. More information will be announced next week.
