Traffic is slow on the Suez Canal because the oil tanker faces difficulties

ISMAILIA (Egypt) April 6 (Reuters) – Sea traffic declined on the Suez Canal on Tuesday, while oil tanker M / T Rumford appeared to be struggling in the south of the channel, shipping sites MarineTraffic and TankerTrackers said.

A commercial source said the channel had notified companies that M / T Rumford was experiencing engine problems on the channel and that it had sent tugs Tim Hope and Mosaed 3 to its rescue.

TankersTracker said on twitter that the vessel faced difficulties, but is finally heading north again.

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) told Reuters the problem lasted only about 10 minutes and “has been fixed”. (Reporting by Yousry Mohamed in Ismailia and Nadine Awadalla in Cairo Written by Mahmoud Mourad Editing by David Goodman)
