The trading season may be heating up in Detroit.
On Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Pistons guard, Derrick Rose, is receiving interest from the Clippers and the Knicks. Nothing seems to be imminent, but the teams are sniffing about the availability of the former MVP, who is in the final year of his contract.
To find out what a trade package might look like, The Athletic writers covering the pistons (James L. Edwards III), Knicks (Mike Vorkunov) and Clippers (Law Murray) discussed possible deals. Each copywriter acted as a decision maker for the respective teams they cover. In real life, the teams are led by Troy Weaver (Detroit general manager), Leon Rose (president of basketball operations in New York) and Lawrence Frank (president of basketball operations in Los Angeles).
The (fictional) Pistons are ready to make the (fictional) pitches!
