TP-Link adds security cameras and a video bell to its Kasa smart home line

TP-Link has made smart home devices before, but it will be all right in 2021. The router manufacturer introduced several Kasa-branded gadgets at CES, including a Kasa smart bell (also known as KD110). The device helps you greet messengers (and identify intruders) with a 1080p camera that uses AI-based people detection. It also has an IP64 rating for weather resistance. You can subscribe to Kasa Care if you want 30 continuous days of cloud storage for filming, but you can also use microSD cards up to 128 GB if you prefer to store the video locally.

Security cameras also play an important role. A Kasa Spot Pan Tilt camera (the KC410S) provides 2K recording with a starlight sensor for dark scenes and motion tracking to monitor suspicious activity. You can also tell the camera to “patrol” specific points of view at certain times. Kasa Cam Outdoor (KC420WS) pairs 2K recording with color night video and IP65 weather resistance.
