It may not seem like it, but the baseball season is coming. And the bets on futures have arrived.
Opening Day 2021 is scheduled for April 1st, with all 30 teams scheduled to play. The Dodgers, whose total wins posted from 104.5 draws with the 1999 Yankees to the highest total in the past 30 seasons, will begin their title defense on the road against the Rocky Mountains. The plan is for a full schedule of 162 games that ends the regular season on October 3rd.
Noteworthy, the expanded post-season we had in 2020 is not scheduled to return in 2021. Except for a new deal, the previous AL and NL setup having five teams each and starting with a win-or-go-home wild card game would be in effect.
Regarding the rules, universal DH will not be used this season, but the doubleheaders will once again present seven-entry games. And when a game goes for extra entries, a runner will be on second base to start each half entry.
The Dodgers are favorites in the National League and the Yankees are the first choice to leave the American League. But there are some newcomers who join them near the top of the World Series odds. Here are the season’s winning totals, pennant odds, division odds and World Series odds for all 30 teams.
