Boy knows … shrimp?
The husband of “Boy Meets World” actress Danielle Fishel Karp, who played Topanga on the 1990s sitcom, went viral on Monday with allegations of a very unpleasant discovery in her breakfast cereal.
Now, the internet is Furthermore blowing up with additional reactions thanks to his famous wife and Jensen Karp is speaking to The Post. (By the way: page six covered their nuptials in 2018.)
Let’s reconstruct the extra crunch that Topanga’s husband claims to have found in his Cinnamon Toast Crunch:
“Ummmm @CTCSquares – why is there a shrimp tail in my cereal? (This is not a little), ” tweeted Jensen, marking the official Cinnamon Toast Crunch account on Twitter and posting an image of what appear to be sugar-coated shrimp tails in a now viral tweet. On a follow-up tweet, Jensen participated in General Mills, the producer of the popular breakfast cereal.
“We are sorry to see what you found! We would like to report this to our quality team and replace the box. Can you send us a DM to collect more details? Thank you! “Crunch Cinnamon Toast He wrote back, for which Jensen answered that he “isn’t sure I’m ready for another box!”
It turns out that Topanga was not feeling the brand’s initial tweet.
“She’s honestly crazy,” Karp told The Post about Danielle’s current feeling about the situation. “She is really disappointed with General Mills’ statement and hoped to see more concern, rather than just telling me that it was actually sugar, not shrimp tails (which is crazy). People are allergic (luckily I am not) and your main focus should be to find out how it happened, to help anyone who might also encounter it. “
After “further investigation”, Cinnamon Toast Crunch informed Jensen said the image he posted did not show shrimp tails, but “an accumulation of cinnamon sugar that can sometimes occur when the ingredients are not well mixed. We guarantee that there is no possibility of cross contamination with shrimp. “
“’Accumulation of sugar particles’”, Danielle answered, “I’m really speechless.” Her too tweeted shrimp emojis and heartbreak.
After further investigation, however, Jensen alleged that there really were “cinnamon-coated shrimp tails” in his cereal, of which he said already ate a bowl. Since then he apparently covered the cereal box with Post-It notes, which say: “DON’T EAT”.
“Before I put the shrimp’s tail in the bowl – I had eaten a bowl. This is a drag, ”Karp told The Post.
“I wasn’t so mad until you tried to light me up?” he accused the brand.
He went on to say that when he explored the cereal bag more, he supposedly found fragment, as well as cereal squares containing black marks. Another bag in the family packaging – that the couple supposedly bought in Woodland Hills, LA, Costco – seemed to be “sealed” and looked at contains dental floss.
“I’m going to test the black thing today”, Jensen wrote Tuesday morning for those who follow their unpalatable adventure. “Most importantly, nothing new from General Mills, since they asked me to send them the shrimp tails that they tried to convince me that it was sugar.”
In a statement to The Post, a representative of General Mills said the company is still investigating the incident.
“While we are still investigating this issue, we can confidently say that it did not happen at our facility,” said spokesman Mike Siemienas in a statement. “We are waiting for the consumer to send us the packaging for further investigation. Any consumer who finds that their cereal box or bag has been tampered with, such as the clear tape that was found in this case, should contact us. ”
In the most recent update to the saga on Tuesday afternoon, Jensen shared an apparent direct message conversation with Cinnamon Toast Crunch in which the brand reportedly said it “got in touch” over the phone and left a voice message and also wanted to “set up” a FedEx collection of the items. In his reply, he said “he won’t give you things”, adding that his initial answer “calling it sugar was very strange and the fact that you didn’t say anything to the contrary doesn’t allow me to trust you with it at all.”
Jensen went on to say that the company was “being super shallow and awkward” and said they should email him “for any future correspondence”.
He also responded earlier on Twitter to those who accused him of falsifying cereal items from foreign objects.
“Something about the stupid ‘Did he pretend’ footprint: there are black BAKED items in the squares and tons at the bottom of the bag, as well as shrimp tails and other SUGAR-COATED junk. Furthermore, it is only ‘viral’ because of its insane response. I would have dropped it, ”he wrote.
