‘Top Chef’ reveals contestants for this year’s season in Portland

In September, Bravo revealed that the 2021 season of the super popular competitive cooking show, Top Chef, would take place in Portland, with special guest appearances by local chef Gregory Gourdet. Today, the chain dropped the trailer for the new season, revealing the list of competitors.

Two Oregon chefs will appear on the show when it opens on April 1: Gabriel Pascuzzi, known for his Stacked Sandwich Shop and Mama Bird restaurants, and Sara Hauman, the former Arden chef who has since moved to Soter Vineyards. They will join other chefs from across the country who roam the state, competing in challenges set in the Columbia River Gorge, Tillamook Creamery and Willamette Valley. Other Portland chefs will appear on the show for challenges and conversations, including chef Le Pigeon and co-owner Gabriel Rucker. The trailer also shows a meal at Akadi, the famous West African restaurant currently on hiatus.

According to a press release, Portlandia stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein will also appear next season Top Chef, probably irritating local residents who resent the constant references to the IFC program.
