Top 10 matchup between Kentucky WBB and South Carolina changed to 5pm on ESPN

A top 10 matchup in Lexington is moving to a main TV slot.

This Sunday’s clash between the No. 10 Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team (9-1) and the No. 5 South Carolina team (7-1) was moved from a report at 1 pm EST on ESPN2 to a report at 5 pm EST on ESPN. It will be a home game for the ‘Cats’ within the historic Memorial Coliseum.

The schedule change was announced on Tuesday morning, not long after Rhyne Howardhead coach Kyra Elzy, and the entire Wildcat team was honored separately by the media for an impressive 2-0 start in the SEC game. Kentucky defeated Arkansas number 10 last Thursday at home before traveling to Starkville, where it defeated Mississippi State number 12 on Sunday.

South Carolina entered the 2020-21 season as the pre-season favorite to win the SEC (Kentucky came in second) and performed relatively well in eight games. The Gamecocks’ only defeat of the year was against the current No. 3 ranked NC State Wolfpack, 54-46. Other than that, South Carolina won victories against the top 25 opponents in Gonzaga and Iowa State while starting the SEC part of the season with a 2-0 record, winning victories against Florida and Georgia.

Make sure to adjust your Sunday schedule, because you have a little basketball in the afternoon to watch.
