Toney leaves Pitt; Enter the NCAA transfer portal

PITTSBURGH – Head coach of the University of Pittsburgh Jeff Capel announced the departure of the junior Au’Diese Toney Thursday. Toney will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.
“We reached a mutual agreement that Au’Diese [Toney] will leave Pitt’s men’s basketball program in place immediately, “said Capel.” We thank him for his efforts over the past three seasons on our show and wish him well, as he seems to continue to grow on and off the court. “
Toney, who lost the Panthers’ last game through injury, averaged 14.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He scored in double digits 12 times in three games with 20 or more points scored. He concludes his career at Pitt with 763 points, 423 rebounds and 80 steals.
Pitt returns to action on Sunday, February 28 at NC State (4 pm – ACC Network). The Panthers are 9-9 in the season, with a 5-8 mark at the conference with three ACC games remaining.
