Tom Holland does not seem enthusiastic about his performance in the film Uncharted • Eurogamer.net

Tom Holland talked about his role as Nathan Drake in the next film Uncharted – and he doesn’t seem to be particularly excited about his performance.

In a new interview with GQ, the Spider-Man star from south London said that playing Drake in the movie was sometimes “less about hitting a mark and going through that scene and more about hitting a mark, staying like this and seeing my protruding biceps …

“It was a mistake and it is something that I will probably never do again.”

Holland’s quote is worth examining in more detail here. GQ defines this by describing the film Uncharted as having something in common with a Michael Bay action film. Holland had to gain weight for the role, and he had to be “looking cool”.

“It was a vanity experiment that left a strange taste in your mouth,” says GQ.

And then for Holland’s quote about the full movie:

“As soon as you start worrying about ‘Do I look good in this photo?’ acting becomes something different from playing a character. I think there are elements of my acting in Uncharted where I kind of fell under the spell of being “I want to look good now. I want this to be my cool moment.” who plays this very difficult and very stoic guy – basically be Mark Wahlberg. My character should be an action hero right now!

“Look, I didn’t see it, so I don’t know if I did it. But it was an important lesson learned, because sometimes it was less about hitting a mark and going through that scene and more about hitting a mark, staying like this and seeing my bulging biceps … It was a mistake and it’s something I probably never will do again. “

So Holland isn’t saying that the Uncharted film is bad, or that appearing in the film was a mistake. What he is saying, however, is that the way he played the part was partly a mistake.

Holland, who is famous for getting off the script in interviews, probably will have left his PR advisors ruffling his hair with this GQ interview. And I doubt that your Hollywood payers are enthusiastic, too. After all, it’s hard not to read your sentence and worry about the movie.

And, as a fan of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted video games, it’s hard not to see a disconnect between Nathan Drake that I’ve enjoyed playing over the years and “this very tough and stoic guy – basically be Mark Wahlberg” Nathan Drake Holland describes in interview.

In January, Sony postponed the film Uncharted to 2022. The previous forecast was that it would arrive in October this year, before Sony, with optimism, anticipated its release for July.

New photos from the Uncharted film set were recently shared by Sony, as the film had almost six months of release. This followed our first photo of Tom Holland in costume last year.
