Game tests are good, but it’s hard not to question whether they are sometimes providing you with just the best gaming experience. Free weekends give players a better opportunity to experience the full game and learn what it really looks like before spending their hard-earned money making a purchase. If you’re willing to spend some serious time with Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, do some stretching and book this weekend for some serious action.

Ubisoft is opening the gates to a free Ghost Recon Breakpoint weekend from January 21st to 24th. We are highlighting this because it will be available on Stadia, but you can also play on the XBox Series X / S, XBox One, Playstation 4 and 5, Amazon Luna and PC (through the Epic Games Store or Ubisoft Store). The only problem to play on Stadia or XBox: you will need a subscription to Stadia Pro or Xbox Live Gold Membership (respectively) to gain access, so this is not really “free” if you have purchased games without maintaining a subscription.

Notably, this is one of the few games to take advantage of Stadia Connect, the feature that allows you to see live what other people are seeing on the screen while you are both playing. This makes it possible to strategize remotely and coordinate attacks better than any other platform.

The free weekend is scheduled to align with the new live event Amber Sky. This is a Rainbow Six crossover featuring some of the favorite characters and includes opportunities to purchase 11 new exclusive items, including new uniforms and a unique Underbarrel Shotgun accessory (this is not limited to the live event).

Ubisoft also highlighted several of the other improvements since the last free weekend in July:

  • GHOST EXPERIENCE UPDATE – The update includes the addition of the Darkest Night setting, improvements to the stealth game style, bullet bait, kitchen grenades, faster inventory management and more.
  • CHANGES IN GUNSMITH – Players will have more freedom of customization and will see improvements to the Gunsmith experience with the addition of custom actions, shared actions, under-barrel options, new weapons / variants and exclusive cosmetics.
  • EPISODE 3 CONTENT – Episode 3 content includes the addition of 10 story missions, 26 exclusive high-quality adventure rewards, a new PvP map and two PvP mission milestones.
  • GOLEM ISLAND UPDATES- The update includes new missions, the ability to cross Golem Island alone and the addition of two new modes, Raid Threat: Critical and Raid Threat: Low.
  • PATHFINDER CLASS – This class uses its skills and tools to discover new approaches to plan and execute its missions. Its special Weapon Interface ability allows players to call a rogue Azrael Drone, which can detect enemies and mark them as allies, distract patrols to control a stealthy approach, blink or stun enemies and deploy a tactical attack.
