Tom Brady scoffs at himself, Drew Brees ahead of historic clash

Nickelodeon showed off an NFL playoff game last week. This may be more suitable for the History Channel.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady beat some people to the joke on Monday night, offering a photoshopped look at himself and his 40-something quarterback Drew Brees.

Sunday will be the first time that the two future members of the Hall of Fame have met in a playoff game.

Brees – a dead character for his father on the classic TV show “Family Ties” – seemed to enjoy this.

Brady, 43, and Brees, 41, are the two oldest starting quarterbacks in the NFL.

Last week, Brady became the oldest NFL player to throw a playoff touchdown in the 31-23 win over Washington. The New Orleans Saints de Brees defeated the Chicago Bears in the opening playoff.

There have been reports that Brees is expected to retire after the season and will likely go straight to the broadcast booth. Meanwhile, Brady seems determined to continue fighting Father Tempo. He finished second to Aaron Rodgers in touchdown passes (40) and third in the NFL in passing yards (4,633).

History tells us that not all 43-year-olds are created equal. On a chart that NBC released this week, George Blanda looks more like Brady’s father than his age.
