GOAT is getting an extension of the contract.
NFL Network Insider, Ian Rapoport, reported on Friday that Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers agreed to the terms of a one-year contract extension that will take him through the 2022 season, according to informed sources about the situation.
Brady, who turns 44 in August, has long debated playing beyond 45. The extension keeps him in Tampa during that eventuality.
Bucs general manager Jason Licht had been discussing a possible extension of Brady since Tampa left his field with the Lombardi Trophy in early February.
A new agreement makes sense for both parties. TB12 still has a lot to look forward to, he expressed zero desire to retire and enjoyed his first season under Bruce Arians in Tampa.
