Tampa Bay Buccaneers held a boat parade on Wednesday to celebrate its first NFL title in 18 years on a sunny day with thousands of fans lining the Hillsborough River near downtown Tampa.
At one point, Brady was captured on video throwing the NFL’s Lombardi Trophy from his boat across the water to Cameron Brate in another boat. This brought wild applause from fans and players.
Brady gave two of his three touchdown passes in the team’s 3-9 Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs to Rob Gronkowski, who joined Brate to form one of the best NFL tight end tandems this season.
Later, Brady was helped out of the boat, something he attributed to the celebrations. “Nothing to see … just a little tequila avoCado,” he tweeted.
When the parade came to an end, coach Bruce Arians said the Bucs could easily repeat themselves as champions if the team remains intact. Brady has already said he will be back, and Arians is determined to retain several other important players as well.
“We have the best NFL coaching staff. And we certainly have the best NFL players, ”said Arians. “We will keep the band together.”
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor emphasized that parade participants needed to wear masks outdoors and observe the rules of social distance.
It seemed that many obeyed the order of the mask, but many others did not. There were also dozens of people in private boats, kayaks and other boats crowding the river to take a look at the team. They were told to stay at least 50 feet from the boats carrying the players.
After Tampa Bay’s victory in Sunday’s title game, crowds gathered in the city’s entertainment districts. Many were seen without a mask despite the orders that demanded them.
For Tampa Bay players and fans of the team, celebrating their first Super Bowl victory since the 2002 season was the main attraction on Wednesday.
Brian Ford, director of operations for Buccaneers, said in a video ad that fans must follow the rules while celebrating the team’s victory.

However, during Wednesday’s parade, many Tampa players, including Brady, were not wearing masks.
On Wednesday, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis criticized the media when he suggested that there was bias in pandemic coverage, especially at the Super Bowl in Tampa.
