Tom Brady addresses Chase Young’s comments ahead of the wild card game Buccaneers-Washington

Tom Brady finally responded to comments from Washington’s defensive side that Chase Young made on Sunday after securing a playoff spot with a win over the Philadelphia Eagles and, to no surprise, he did not appear to be offended by the rookie’s enthusiasm.

Brady spoke to reporters about Young ahead of Saturday’s NFC Wild Card game, where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face Washington in the franchise’s first playoff game since 2007.

“He is obviously a great young player and we have our hands busy with that (defensive) line,” said Brady, via NFL.com. “He went to Ohio State, so I think this Ohio-Michigan state thing has left him a little worn out.”

The eager newcomer won his first division title on Sunday in the Eagles’ 20-14 victory. As Young left the field, he was heard shouting, “Tom Brady! Tom Brady, I’m going. I want Tom!”

Bucs coach Bruce Arians praised Young’s skills on Monday, but warned, “You better be careful what you want.”

Young spoke to reporters on Wednesday and said he would not apologize for what he said, but credited his excitement for playing against a future Hall of Fame.

“I am excited for every game. Tom Brady? Do you think I will not be excited to play against GOAT? You are traveling,” said Young, via NFL.com. “I’m not going to apologize for saying I want Tom.”

The Bucs are favorites in Saturday’s clash after Washington won the division title with just seven wins thanks to a disastrous NFC East.
