Today’s free game from the Epic Store is an excuse to stay home on Christmas Eve

Another day, another offer in the Christmas bonanza of free PC games from Epic. For Christmas Eve, you can really get into the festive spirit by getting extremely upset and walking slowly to the right in the super-terrible platform puzzle, Inside. You have 24 hours to get Playdead’s excellent sadness simulator before the offer runs out.

Inside is now available to claim on the regular promotion page of the Epic Games Store, and will run until December 25 (which is Christmas) at 8:00 am PST / 11:00 am EST / 4:00 pm GMT. As always, you’ll ‘buy’ the game at a price of zero dollars and it will remain in your library forever. The first free game you redeem from Epic during the holiday promotion will also give you a $ 10 coupon to use until January 7th – and you will receive another coupon each time you use one.

As for the Interior itself, here is the official description: “Hunted and alone, a boy finds himself drawn to the center of a dark project.” That’s all you need to know, and the less you know, the better. It’s a horror themed platform game, lots of puzzles and a little bit of light action, but it’s really about the atmosphere. It is also not very long, so you can quickly see what it is about.

According to the leaked list of freebies that are floating around the Internet – it’s been accurate so far – tomorrow’s freebie will be Darkest Dungeon. Someone at Epic really seems to want Christmas to be Halloween, I think.
