TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge aims to channel the classic arcade Ninja Turtles

The classic arcade-style Ninja Turtle action is back. Today, Dotemu publisher announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, who says he was “inspired by the classic TMNT tough guys we all created as kids ”, including the success of the early 90s Turtles in time.

For gamers, this means old school pixel art based on original character designs from 1987 and cooperative fighting action with up to four people. Also, for some reason, Mike Patton is here to sing the classic theme song from the debut trailer. Here is the basic configuration of the game, which seems to cover a wide variety of classics TMNT places:

With Bebop and Rocksteady attacking Channel 6 and stealing supernoded devices to support Krang and Shredder’s latest twisted plan, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge sees Turtles fighting in a fair range of timeless TMNT Locations. From Manhattan and Coney Island, to the city’s rooftops and damp sewers, help the fearsome stumbling foot soldiers, Triceraton Warriors and Rock Troops to Dimension X!

Although it is too early to say how the game channels these classics, the creative team has a strong pedigree. The game is announced as a collaboration between Dotemu, who worked on the excellent setback Streets of Rage 4and Tribute Games, which showcases some of the talents behind Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game and the cult success TMNT game released on Game Boy Advance.

There is no word yet on when Revenge of the Shredder will be released, but Dotemu says it will be released for both PC and consoles.
