Titans to free CB Malcolm Butler

The Titans will choose not to participate in the past two years of Malcolm Butlercontract of. They are launching veteran NFL.com cornerback Ian Rapoport tweets.

Cutting Butler will save the Titans $ 10.2 million. Prior to this transaction, Tennessee held only $ 1 million in cap space. The former Super Bowl hero spent three seasons with the Titans, signing a lucrative contract in 2018.

Tennessee added Butler to a five-year deal, $ 61.25 million in 2018. Although Butler turned 31 last week, the former UDFA will again generate interest as a free agent. He ended the last season as the 15th overall corner of Pro Football Focus, playing 16 games after a 2019 list shortened by injury.
