The Tennessee Titans reportedly found a buyer for the choice and offensive tackle of the first round of 2020, Isaiah Wilson.
According multiple reports, the Titans are sending Wilson and a choice of the 2022 seventh round to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for the 2021 choice of the seventh round of Miami.
And so Wilson’s tumultuous tenure in Nashville ends, which lasts only one season. Now, the Georgia product will seek a fresh start in Miami, after facing a series of problems during its debut season.
Considering the circumstances, this exchange is a kind of victory for the Titans, although they basically received nothing in return, as their relationship with Wilson seemed to be a long way off at this point.
Tennessee will now be able to clear the base salary due to Wilson over the next three years, but will have about $ 4.5 million in dead money in 2020 thanks to his guaranteed bonus money, which is not ideal for a team without money like the Titans. However, this is less than what they would have paid had Wilson been cut.
Titans general manager Jon Robinson certainly doesn’t earn any brownie points, with the team now having officially wasted a choice in the first round and millions of dollars.
With the choice added, the Titans now have eight blocked, with a ninth choice designed to come through a compensatory selection.
